nick lives and works in the echo park/angelino heights neigborhood of los angeles, california. |||| Q: WHY DO YOU WRITE? a: that's a good question. mostly i started writing because i was really lonely from some point in the eighth grade all the way through high school. i had friends but there was a time when i didn't really talk to anyone and i kind of felt like an unwanted alien or something. pretty much standard growing up junk i guess. now i just have way too much to say. i don't really want to say all of my thoughts out loud. sometimes it's that i feel like rambling without interruption or that maybe i'd be annoying the crap out of some poor bastard that doesn't want to hear me. or other times it's anger that fuels my words and it feels great to get it out. anger and isolation were my early motivations, but now i feel great about life. some of my motivation to create still comes from those early motivators, but also, much more frequently it comes from seeing things that make me happy and grateful to be alive. i want to tell people how good things look to me. and, still, sometimes what pisses me off. i am quiet a lot, but there is always some thought rattling around my head that wants to get out.|||| Q: WHY THIS SITE? a: my friend steve had an idea to build this forum and he did it for free. i was against the internet as a place to express my thoughts and to show my artwork. but part of what changed my mind came from staying in contact with friends through 'that profile site' that everyone seems to hate these days. it's a terrible way to stay in contact in some ways. i mean, people need to go out and see each other, not just post bulletins... but i have digressed. when steve came to visit l.a. this year, we got together and talked for the first time in about two years and we found out our friendship was still very important to us both. we were excited to work on this project together and now i have a forum where i can direct someone who wants to see my work or thoughts. what it is exactly is not set in stone, but i'm sure it will be great, or at least interesting and we'll just let it be what it is. thank you steven for all your work here.
